Brand Spotlight 'Matiko'

Heyy lovers...so as you know my favorite brand by far is Jeffrey Campbell..but that doesn't mean that I don't like any other brands..so today I want to share with you another brand that is quickly making headway to rise to the top! The brand I am talking about is Matiko!

Yes the brand I am spotlighting today is Matiko..you may have heard of it before...maybe I am just now realizing their awesomeness..But if like me, you have been slightly in the shadows on this brand..I am going to share with you today some of their shoes that I am currently falling in love with...and a few past shoes of theirs that I love too!

This lovely Matiko shoe is the Ty as shown on Envi Shoes... this is currently sold out on most websites as the style is older...

Although this style is 'old'  this is still a super fierce shoe! I love the split in the design..from wild in the back..to sexy and chic and simple in the front!..I have been drooling over this shoe since last summer..and regret not having it in my collection :(

This little darling is the Matiko Yumie wedge ...another older style that is currently sold out at most retailers...

I just adore all of the little cutouts on this bootie..it kind of reminds me of Jeffrey Campbell's 99 ties wedge..very cute!

This beautiful little darling is the Matiko Havanna as shown on Solestruck

This little lover wasn't supposed to be available until a whole month later from now..but Solestruck got their shipment in early..I love this shoe! The color is described as light red..but in the picture it appears to be pink..I wonder how it looks in person....As you all know I am a sucker for strappy shoes and tassels and pink!!..and this little lover has it all.. and the tassel is just the right size..it gives this shoe that extra little detail that just makes my heart skip a beat..Find it here.

This little feisty shoe is the Matiko Echo as shown on Lulus...check out that sole detail! Love it!

Second up and new for Matiko this week is the Matiko Echo ..this is also described as being a light red..but still looks like pink to me! lol..I am really seriously loving the color blocking this season..and Matiko did it well! I also love the cute little tassel, once again :) ..and what makes this shoe stand out most of all to me..is the one detail no one will see while you're walking..but may quite possibly be the most interesting detail of the shoe....is the sole! Dreamlist Thursdays!! 2/23 'Nasty Gal Edition' xx

Heyy lovelies!! Today is Dreamlist Thursday!! And I'm so FREAKING EXCITED about it this week..that I'm working on this post at midnight!! Oh yess I'm early today! lol..I love sharing my Dreamlist with you! And this week all of the shoes on my Dreamlist are featured from Nasty Gal, one of my favorite clothing & shoes websites! I stalk their website daily! They have thee best selections of dresses and shoes! Omg..I could go on for days about all the things that I love on their site..my dreamlist on their racks up to over $700.00..I really need to win a lottery of some sorts so I can just go on a Nasty Gal shopping spree...Mega Millions, Power Ball, Pick 6, something..anything! LoL!!

So now on to what I'm most excited for right now...THE SHOES:

Foxy Platform Pump in Lavender by Betsey Johnson as shown on Nasty Gal

The first pair of shoes up on my Dreamlist is the Foxy Platform by Betsey Johnson. I LOVE this shoe! I have been eyeing this shoe for a while. You may have seen it in it's alternate color variation of blue and pink..but I like the subtleness of the lavender and gold a lot better. Maru Platform by Messeca as shown on Nasty Gal

The second pair of shoes on my Dreamlist this week is the Maru by Messeca...this is a brand I did a spotlight post on a while back..they are an up and coming brand with a lot to offer!...This shoe kind of reminds me of the Jeffrey Campbell Lita..perhaps that's the quality that attracted me to this shoe..but what I love most about this shoe are those great cutouts, the simplicity, the wonderfully crafted wooden heel, the sweet touch of laces, and the soft pastel color...This shoe is Messeca in all of it's glory! Corleone Platform in Red By Jeffrey Campbell as shown on Nasty Gal

Now this one has me SUPER excited!! This shoe is the Corleone by Jeffrey Campbell..This shoe should look familiar to you..I had it featured in my Shoe-a-holics Beware post a couple of weeks ago..however in that post it was pictured in black...well let me tell you I thought I liked it then..but RED has taken this shoe from sexy to SEXY...I have to have this shoe! This shoe represents all that I am..fun, flirty, sexy, pretty, unique, beautiful, vibrant...But enough about me, this is supposed to be about the shoe lol...Find this beautiful little lover here..

Foxy Platform in Blue Nubuck by Jeffrey Campbell  as shown on Nasty Gal

When I saw this shoe I instantly got excited! This is the Jeffrey Campbell Foxy..Something about this blue just draws me in ((..Beyonce' fever maybe?? lol...)) ..& I like the retro feel of this shoe... It definitely makes me think of the iconic character Foxy Brown..I could definitely picture her wearing these...which makes me want these shoes even more! It's just a badass shoe!! If you don't know about Foxy Brown she was just a badass chick from the 70's who didn't take no sh*t from anyone and it was a GREAT movie..if you haven't seen it I def recommend it..

Night Spike Platform by Jeffrey Campbell as shown on Nasty Gal

Now I know you may be thinking..not another nightwalk..but hey what can I say?? I am in love with the style! I love the sweetness of the mary jane style ..taken to another level by stripping it of a heel..and then turning it super rad with the detailing of the spikes!!..I love this shoe!..LOVE LOVE LOVE this shoe!! Roxie Platform by Jeffrey Campbell as shown on Nasty Gal

Sixth shoe on my Dreamlist..hope I'm not boring you..is the Jeffrey Campbell Roxie..This shoe is soo awesome!! I love the bootie design with the cutout heel.......the only reservations I have about this shoe is it's actual functionality...when my good friend Roni tried these on in Strut of NY she said they were very hard to walk in because there was no flexibility around the ankle...of course that poses a huge problem..a beautiful shoe is wonderful!! BUT it's worth nothing at all if it's not functional.....so this shoe gets an honorable mention because I love the overall aesthetic of the shoe..but I can't say that this shoe will ever move from my Dreamlist to my Shopping cart until I try them on for myself..Find these darlings here.

Strung Platform Pump by Jeffrey Campbell as shown on Nasty Gal

Last but not least on my Dreamlist for today is the Strung Platform Pump by Jeffrey Campbell. I love the teal color of this shoe! I guess my weakness for shoes this spring/summer will be COLOR. I am loving the beautiful colors of shoes this year. Not only the color makes this shoe dream worthy..but also that fun little side tassel, the edginess of the spikes, and that miu miu inspired curved heel....I know that the heel is Miu Miu inspired because I used to walk past their store everyday and all of their heels are very similar to the heel that is on this shoe..and I love it! Because now I can purchase a similar heel at a fraction of the price....but these shoes are far from cheap! These shoes are actually the most expensive Jeffrey Campbell shoes on my Dreamlist, they ring up at $230.00 ...but you can't put a price on love..find it here.

9th pair of JCs, Rizzo!!

Heyy shoe lovers, this shoe review is LONG overdue. I don't know what has taken me sooo long to get this one done. If you keep up with my blog then you will recognize that I purchased this shoe a while ago, February 3rd I believe is the exact day. I picked these little lovers up from Strut of NY, my first pair of Jeffrey Campbell shoes that I didn't purchase online. Although I absolutely loved the store..and the opportunity to try on the shoes in person..I do believe I will be sticking with my online purchasing..nothing beats shopping from home, not paying taxes on the shoes, and free shipping! Nothing beats that :)

Soo there you go, that's my 9th pair of Jeffrey Campbell shoes. I love them! The T Strap design is what truly stole my heart..something about suede and t straps is soo sweet, cute, and lovely. Plus the colors are just so beautiful together, I couldn't pass up on an opportunity to own this shoe...

This lovely shoe just makes me want to dance in circles in a beautiful frilly dress. I love this shoe. Something about it is so ethereal and just makes me feel so young and full of life :) ..The pink is what stands out the most to me about the shoe, probably because it's my favorite color..it truly pops against that beautiful royal blue. And despite this shoe missing support for the arch it is very comfortable..I can barely even feel that the arch support is missing..It's a pretty awesome design!..They are also insanely easy to walk in...So all around the shoe is GREAT! And if you live near NYC I highly recommend taking the trip over to Strut of NY to pick up your own pair of Rizzos, or one of the many other JC shoes that they offer :)

New This Week!!...

 Heyy lovers!! Happy Friday!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you all as ready for the weekend as me??..I'm really looking forward to having some quiet time in....& speaking of quiet..This week has been kind of quiet in the shoe world......................

Not too many noteworthy new shoe releases this week, but there has been a couple that I just HAD to share :) ............First being the release of the beautiful glitter Night Litas. I love Glitter!.....

 To me it seems more like the Night Lita should be called the Night Damsel..because it looks more like a cross between the Damsel and the Nightwalk than the Lita and the Nightwalk....and although I wasn't the biggest fan of this shoe in the beginning...it is growing on me.....I think I may like the black leather Night Lita (shown below) better than the glitter though :)  ......hard choice though! I can't choose..

Second up this week for a very worthy mention is THE DAMSEL SPIKE...yes you read that right! JC is just putting spikes on everything..............I'm definitely NOT loving this shoe, despite my love for Damsels....but I know a lot of people have been wanting to see a spiked Damsel..so for all of you your dreams have finally come true! :)

The main reason why I don't like this shoe is that down the center of the back of the shoe there is no spikes..that is because it has the stitching there..but I just can't get my eyes around it...Second reason I don't like it ..is because it is spike overkill! ..It's just too much!..The Damsel is a lot to begin with..It's already enough shoe..it doesn't need any embellishments..sometimes..and in this case especially..less is more :) ..well for me anyways.


So I told you there weren't many new noteworthy shoe releases this week! LoL.. So this brings us to the end of this post..

Valentine's Day//Night Envi

Today is Valentine's Day!! Or to some just Tuesday...I am single so I guess for me it should just be Tuesday but it's not..Throughout today I've heard MANY peoples opinions on what this day means or doesn't mean to them. So I started thinking about what this day meant to me..to me it's a day to celebrate the love in your life..It doesn't have to be for a significant other..it can be the love of your family, your religion, or any other form of Love. Love is universal! It crosses all boundaries, breaks all molds, and can not be contained nor with-held and it's strength is more powerful than anyone could measure..So even though I'm single and can't celebrate Valentine's Day in the traditional way..I am not too traditional anyway lol..I am celebrating Valentine's Day as a Love appreciation day!! And for the first year, this day actually feels special :)

Orrrrrrrrrr ..................maybe it just feels special because I FINALLY bought my ................((wait for it))........................................ NIGHT ENVI!! yay!! yay!! Yay!! Yay!! yay!! LOL..*dancing*..I am sooo excited that I finally purchased them!! You all know how long I've had them on my Dreamlist..dreaming of them endlessly week after week..and today when I saw that they were down to only 2 pairs left in my size..I had to purchase them!! .........I don't know why I always wait til they get down to a couple pairs left before I buy them..I'm a master procrastinator, hahah, takes years to acquire these skills!!! Hehehe.

Rest In Peace Whitney Houston

Heyy lovers, I must admit I haven't been blogging because I've honestly been a little down since I've heard of the death of Whitney Houston, my beloved idol. I am just heartbroken that she has gone to glory so soon. I have always had a respect and admiration for Whitney, even through her addiction, because throughout it all she has always remained true to herself, true to her faith, a true woman of God, and a beautiful mother! I've NEVER witnessed a celebrity that had such faith and conviction in the Lord..she inspires me to be a better person..through her amazing faith..I find myself falling in love with God all over again..and not because she loves Him..but because of her testimony..He is so glorious..and His plan is far greater than what our minds could ever perceive..but I truly hope that her story, her blessings, her testimony, her faith, and her being will be her legacy...and I pray that Bobbi Kristina leans on God, for He is the only one that can get her through such a precious loss. Sad thing about losing someone is that no amount of time can ease the pain...you never stop missing that person..your heart never ceases to ache for their tender touch, your memories will haunt you with times you wish you could have again, but one thing that time can do is help you to control your emotions to an extent..but in those quiet moments when you're alone and your heart aches for a love it once knew..the pain comes rushing back to the surface..I know the pain of grief all too well, having experienced the loss of over 20 precious loved ones in my life that I can recall. Its a pain that runs deep that I live with daily so I truly empathize with Bobbi Kristina and the Houston family at this time. 


And for those who judge Whitney Houston or ANYONE for that matter, know this....and read this very carefully ..Nobody in life is perfect..Nobody in life has a perfectly smooth journey without any personal issues or failures..none of our journeys are the same, but that doesn't make yours any higher than anyone elses..a sin is a sin, and not to sound harsh but we are all sinners..But it is how we accept ourselves with our own flaws and how we each personally try to better ourselves ..and accept life for what it truly is that makes LIFE so beautiful.. I wake up everyday with a smile..not because of how much money I make, not because I'm buying another pair of shoes, not because I am free of the addictions that plague my community..I wake up with a smile because God saw fit to give me an opportunity to be a blessing to someone..and because He is allowing me to fulfill my purpose..I live for Him, I live because of Him, and He lives through me...and He lived through her, and she has been a blessing to millions through her voice..and she did not die because of her addictions, even if that's what happened to her in the physical..She died because her testimony was written, her story was complete, and God was ready for her to fulfill a Higher Purpose alongside Him and His angels. I weep for a person's death when they've never found God..but I rejoice in death as birth into eternity begins when a person of God passes on to His holy plain.

This week has been a Damsel love week for me! I've been wearing my Cat Tapestry Damsels everywhere!! And I've gotten more compliments and "oh my God how do you walk in those???" than I can count!! They are so comfortable and cute! So it's only natural for me to fall in love with this new beauty!! I've never seen the Damsel in this style before but it works, and it works well! These little lovers are so unique!!..Not only do I love that classic T-Strap design..what really stole my heart is that beautiful design on the platform and the heel, I'm not sure if it's engrave into the wood or just a simple flat design but however they did it, it is gorg! This darling shoe exudes such innocence and sweetness! I love the cute little bow and curved bottom...And although orange and pink don't seem like colors that would work well together this shoe proves that they do! GIANTS WIN!

Hey lovers, sorry for not making any new posts this week ..But this week has definitely been a bit of a whirlwind!!...So let me begin at the beginning of this week.....


Sunday: of course was the SUPERBOWL!! Which you all know the GIANTS W O N!! and if you didn't know that the Giants won........where have you been hiding?? OR maybe you're a PATRIOTS fan........all PATRIOTS FANS exit by clicking the X button in the top right corner above, lol.. just joking!!...I am not a diehard football fan who follows football throughout the season sorry but next season I will try harder, promise!..But I am a football fan who remains steadily loyal to the same team throughout the year, The Giants!!! And I was SOOOOO happy to see them win on Sunday night! AND I was even happier to see them all in person at the parade in NYC on Tuesday!! 
Monday: I woke up early to try and run some errands..but it was so crowded out that I ended up not doing what I intended to and made it home just in time for work :(
Tuesday: Bright and early at 6 am I woke up and was out the door by 7:30 off to New York City to stand with fellow Giants fans in anticipation of the parade!! Even though the parade didn't start until 11 am it's a good thing I left out as early as I did because the cops shut off fans from entering the main parade block by 9 am..Luckily, it was a beautiful day out! & all the energy on Broadway was AMAZING! As we waited to pass time..the crowd began throwing toilet paper from one side of the street to another, throwing mini footballs back n forth, and both the residents and employees in the buildings lining broadway were throwing buckets of both shredded and whole pieces of paper out of the windows. It was a lot of fun!! And all of the fans out there were pretty nice!!...especially being that we were pretty much the only 2 girls in a sea of men and not one was inappropriate or said an inappropriate comment :) *hand claps for the mommies raising gentleman!*

Wednesday: I took my daughter off to the city to have some FUN with her Daddy and her family! And by the time we got back home we were so worn out that her and I both knocked out!!!!.............and actually she's STILL sleep, lol.

So as you can see it's been a pretty awesome week!! .......Oh and This week I also started a 7 day 'diet' of not eating meat..it's not really a diet..but more of a self test..I have a new admiration for overnight vegetarians! This is not easy! Everyday I want to quit..but being I was the one who came up with this brilliant idea..and that I have my family joining me.. I have no choice but to stick it out!...I haven't eaten a single vegetable yet so I can't call myself a 7 day vegetarian lol...but I've been surviving off of rice & beans, pizza, cheesy bread, and snacks! LoL

..................Well now it is time to prepare my Dreamlist!!

Shoe Medley

Heyyy Lovers it's Superbowl Sunday!! yay!! I hope you all have a beautiful day and drive responsibly!! :)

Ohhh before I get into this post I want to share with you this video..I love this song and the video. Beyonce is inspiring me to get my summer body back! So I have convinced my family to go vegetarian with me for 7days...starting tomorrow!! :) It'll be good for us all to kind of detox and eat healthy for a week..well actually they eat healthy all the time..it's me that can't let go of the pizzas and cheesy fries lol..

Can't you see why she's an inspiration! & I know she's going to be another celebrity who bounces back from a baby with an amazing body!! ..My fitness goal is to look this amazing by May. I'm going to be working on my body on overtime until then :)...Let's see how this goes :) ..Oh and to clarify for you all I don't want to lose weight ..(well 5 lbs would be nice)..I really just want to get toned and more fit! :)

..........Now on to the shoes :) 

On Friday while taking out the garbage my house door slammed and scraped the back side of my Lita Spikes..I was terrified to look down..in fear of seeing all of the spikes missing!..but just 1 was missing..I was heartbroken! Absolutely heartbroken. I thought my shoes were ruined forever! BUT then I remembered that in the boxing with these shoes there were extra spikes...So I rushed upstairs to put one in..I thought it would just pop in or screw in..But I was wrong...So of course what's a shoe-a-nista to do??.. Take to Facebook about the tragedy in hopes someone would know how to fix it. & In the meantime I called Jildor shoes to see if they could walk me through how to fix it because obviously I was doing something wrong. The customer service there is wonderful! and I would shop with them more often if they offered more JCs..The customer service lady there advised me to try to figure out a D.I.Y to fix it..she said perhaps a hot glue gun or crazy glue..but I was too afraid I'd ruin my shoes..she had no problem with switching them out for a new pair but they didn't have my size in stock at this time and honestly I didn't feel like 1 missing spike was warrant enough for a shoe exchange even at the $200 price tag I paid for these little lovers. While I'm talking to her..One of my favorite shoe companies, Envi Shoes, responded to my earlier plea on Facebook "take it to a shoe repair, it should cost less than $10.00 for them to fix it"...why didn't I think of that?? why didn't the lady at customer service think of that? LOL..So that's exactly what I did!! And within the hour they were like new!! & it only costed me $4.00 :) ..The shoe repair man said that it was hard to fix it and that hopefully no more fall off, lol..so I'm glad I didn't try to do it myself, he has experience and said it was hard, LoL..He gave me one of those..I hope she doesn't come back with this shoe again faces. haha....But I'm so thrilled that they are fixed! Thank you shoe doctor! :)

Well if you haven't seen them before..Here they are!! I actually like these alot better than the black ones, I especially like the red ones..Although, I still don't think I like them enough to purchase them but they are slowly growing on me...........slowly.....These color variations are available on Dolls Kill...and the leapord print is also available at Solestruck.....Who's price is better?? Dolls Kill, by $5.00.... If you haven't seen their site before I'm sure you'll find plenty on there to love. 

Rockin Heels

Sorry I don't know the exact name of these beautiful JC Rockin heels..but aren't they adorbz! I love the all black one the most! Solestruck says that they will be getting some color variations of these beautiful JC shoes. I can't wait to see what they offer!! I like the Rockin heels a lot, they had a pair at Strut of NY that was gorgeous!! It was like a distressed gold bootie..Soo pretty, next time I go back I'll take more shoe pics to share with you, because they had a lot of exclusives that JC makes just for them :)

Friday Night Lights!

Heyy lovers!!!!!!!! New template!! Do you like it?? I changed from my old one because there was no follow button..so I'm trying to make things easier for you :) ...I like the colors on this one better though..It's a lot more reflective of my personality.....so it's SUPERBOWL weekend!!! Go Giants!!! If you didn't already know, I'm from the Bronx, NY so of course I am a Giants fan...I'm actually an 'anything from NY' fan!! hahah. I don't follow sports much..but I root for all of my home teams..so I hope to see them win...BUT most importantly I hope to see some SUPER funny commercials. That's the best part of the superbowl for me!! lol.

 SO let me recap you on what's been going on these past couple of days...Friday morning I permed my hair and all of that beautiful red color in my hair literally went down the drain..now my hair is back to blonde..I'm fine with it though..BUT I do miss being a red head...Then Friday night my girls & I went out to the city, New York City, for some shoe shopping & fun!!..I seen on Jeffrey Campbell's blog that there was a store in NY called Strut of NY so we HAD to go there! We drove around in a million circles before we finally decided to use our Iphones to lead us there lol...And when we arrived...it's as if the shoe angels had blessed this store with all of the most beautiful Jeffrey Campbell shoes!! and other brands too....but I must admit I was too mesmerized by all of their JCs to even glance at any of the other shoes...This store was truly like a Jeffrey Campbell wonderland. If you live in the Tri-State, you definitely have to stop by this store!!! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!

Wow, can you see why I was mesmerized......They had the Nightlita, Lindy, Rockin heels, Nightwalks, the Shadow, Lita Spike 2, Benched, Jehens, Rockstar, and soooo many more ...

STRUT OF NY Jeffrey Campbell Wall

So I finally had the opportunity to try on the Shadow..and I did not like it..It made my feet look wide and big because of all of those spikes..But ..what I can tell you is that it was very comfortable and it fit me perfectly at a 1/2 size up. ..so if you're looking to purchase them I'd definitely recommend purchasing them a 1/2 size up..and actually this store Strut of NY doesn't have a website at the moment, but they do ship ..so you can call them to place an order for ANY of the shoes you see in the photos..as you can see they have A LOT of exclusives!! I will put there store information at the end of this post...ohh and I also tried on the Lindy!! I love that shoe. It's just as cute in person as it is in pictures..and it fit me true to size. I am definitely going to purchase those, they were so adorable! :) .......*should've taken pics of the shoes on my feet when I tried them on, oopsies*

My good friends Roni & Jenny, not pictured, came out with me...((check out Roni here..you'll LOVE her blog, she has a super cute style with a lot of killer JCs to match)).. of course we didn't leave without making a purchase!! lol..Despite us saying we were going to be responsible window shoppers..who were we kidding?? haha..We are both JC girls and couldn't stand to leave the store without one of those awesome shoes in hand!!

The staff there was soooo friendly and sweet, I just adore them! I could've stayed there for hours just chit chatting with them and staring at their beautiful JC wall!! Its rare that I have such an AMAZING shopping experience! I can't wait to go back there again :)

....soo after we walk out of the store towards our car..we see a cop approaching about to  give me a ticket!! Eeeeeeek, we were JUST in time..so he let us go, close one!! whew. //So after driving off in another round about way slightly lost again, lol, we finally landed in Times Square..I go there often so I didn't take a picture of the beautiful lights..but we did take a lot of other random pics throughout the night at our impromptu photo bomb shoot at the Forever 21 in Times Square. It was my first time to that particular one ..the store had FOUR floors!! I've never seen a Forever 21 that big before..

My sister Jenny!!!! My best friend! I've known her for over 20 years!!..I wish she had a blog I could refer you to....hint hint Jenny!! ;) hahah.
